6 Steps to home ownership

If this is your first time buying a home, take a quick peek at the steps it takes to get there. One of the great things about working with Kristin Carter Realty Group is that we are here to help and serve in any way. So, any questions you have, we’re just a phone call away.

1: Consultation/Loan Pre-Approval

Attend a consultation meeting with Kristin Carter Group to establish your home buying needs, financial parameters and expectations. Begin the mortgage pre-approval process by meeting with one of our preferred loan officers.

2: Planning & Home Tours

Together we will compile a list of desirable homes that you would like to tour based on needs, wants and specific neighborhoods. We will then tour the homes while also researching your top properties and evaluating the current market value.

3: Offer & Negotiations

Once you have selected your dream home we will then structure an offer based on our research, getting you the best price and terms, as well as adding any contingencies needed to protect you. We negotiate for an accepted offer.

4: Contract

Your offer becomes an executed contract and the option period begins. Option fees & earnest money are delivered. Inspection is ordered and repairs (if any requested) are negotiated.

5: Due Diligence

Title work is completed to ensure home is clear to close, appraisal and survey are ordered, and the loan approval process is completed. Seller will complete any negotiated repairs, and you will do a final walk through on the home to confirm it is ready to take possession.

6: Closing & Taking Ownership

Sign closing paperwork at title company. Confirm funds transfer complete to seller post closing/funding. Seller delivers keys and home accessories. to your new home and we welcome you to the neighborhood!
